Has the world missed Sam and Dean Winchester in the tedious weeks since Supernatural’s fall finale? According to the ominous new Supernatural promo, the answer is an emphatic yes.
Even Crowley, the King of Hell, admits, “Every Armageddon, every end of days...the Winchesters stopped it. Like it or not, they’re an asset we can’t afford to lose.”
It feels like a few centuries have passed since Supernatural’s winter finale ended with Sam and Dean's arrest for attempting to kill a devil-possessed POTUS. How the Winchesters escape is a question that will be answered this Thursday when the show returns with its first new episodes of the year.
This Supe fan is guessing that the ruthless British Men Of Letters—you may remember them as the crew that kidnapped, shot and tortured Sam (Jared Padalecki) in the season opener—will use their impressive means to mount an escape, and the Winchesters will have to work with them to maintain their freedom.
In the meantime, absence makes the heart grow fonder, and since this is a horror show, scarier. Mary confesses, “I love you” before a stomach-turning gunshot; Sam clutches his head screaming; and Dean (Jensen Ackles) calls Castiel “his best friend.”
Despite all of the love, the Winchesters seem like they’re in more danger than ever before as Castiel proclaims, “This sad doomed little world, it needs you. It needs every last Winchester it can get, and I won’t let any of you die.” Watch the beautiful and terrifying promo above. Supernatural will resume scaring the bejeezus out of us on Jan. 26 at a new time of 8/7c on The CW. Photo Credit: TVLine.com
