SSGers, did you know that I'm a little bit psychic? It's totally true.

I magically knew that the Hollywood Foreign Press wouldn't nominate Tiffany Haddish for her hilarious, grapefruit-abusing turn in Girls' Trip and would completely ignore Queen Sugar--one of the best shows on television (Word in the street is: they probably don't even watch them). And earlier this week, I was thinking "Why the fork hasn't Kylie Bunbury booked another TV show?"

Ask and you shall receive! (I wish Kim Zolciak-Biermann and her dusty wig would get booted for #RHOA!)

TVLine.com reports that Bunbury, lead in the woefully short-lived Pitch, has drafted to star in the ABC reboot of Get Christie Love.

September 13 marks SSG's second birthday, and while my mom gives no credence to The Terrible Twos, I just might.  

The second year of maintaining this site was far harder than the first.  The newness had worn off, and while I still love television with the passion of a thousand stans, there was never enough time in the day or snark in my brain to write all that I've wanted to write. 

It didn't help that Toupee Fiasco became president on my ACTUAL birthday, and because of his reign, it feels like lightyears of anxiety, fear and anger has past in the months since.  Working through that and trying to reconcile how much the world has changed (or how much has much has been revealed how it truly is) has been a major challenge in itself.  Did I mention I also got a challenging new job?  That only begins to explain the updates every two weeks.  #SorryNotSorry

Though it took a while, SSG has also also helped to sustain and possibly grow my passion for all things pop culture, and what I'm doing here. Entertainment and the blerds, geeks, small screen girls/boys/people and shippers that obsess over it are more important than ever.  It is escape and catharsis and resistance.  A television show or song or movie is a dream realized for the person that makes it and a journey of excitement, intrigue, grief and passion for the people who consume it.  It is the great connector.  

Realizing this, I have found myself more excited for SSG's second birthday and what's to come.  Not only will I be blogging here, I will be guest-writing for WeSoNerdy.com AND writing my second (and hopefully publishable) book this winter.  

I want to thank anyone and everyone who has visited the site, left comments and shared my articles.  It means so much to me that you've joined me on this journey.  I'm proud of my little corner of the internet, and I really want to make it as fly as possible!  How do you like the new digs?

What does a visionary and uber-producer who has generated over $2 billion in profit after creating game-changing shows like Grey's Anatomy, Scandal and more do?  Any damn things she wants.  This week Shonda Rhimes, the world's greatest television producers, did just that by announcing that she is parting ways with ABC and to exclusively create new content for digital streamer, Netlfix, Variety.com reports.

The groundbreaking move from broadcast television to the streaming giant offers "unique creative freedom and instantaneous global reach," Rhimes said in a statement.

While I'm wondering how Ms. Rhimes will pack up her infinity pool of fans' tears and rollercoasters of feels, I'm also doing my happy dance!   Rhimes essentially has a blank slate at Netflix, which makes her the hottest ticket in Hollywood.  A fangirl's mind reels at the binging possibilities.  

However, fantastic shows need fabulous actors, so here are some wonderful actors and one show I've love to see make a pilgrimage to Shondaland...

It's been said that we are in the golden age of television because of the sheer volume, variety and availability of programming on broadcast networks, cable and streaming services.  And yet, TV fans still must suffer through the stress of waiting for their favorite shows to be renewed and the consequent gut-punch of grief when they aren't.
 
Thanks to social media, fans have a direct line to show’s creators, writers and stars, and fans are fighting back.  

From the passing of beloved celebrities like Prince, David Bowie, George Michael and most recently Carrie Fisher and Debbie Reynolds to the surreal and possibly rigged election of the Evil Cheeto, 2016 has been one of the most trying and tragic years in recent memory.  They say truth is stranger than fiction, so it's fitting that this hurricane of crap has descended upon our favorite fictional characters, too. 

Whether, a particularly harrowing plot, bad writing or just plain old character neglect, here are 7 characters from Grey's Anatomy, This Is Us, Supernatural and more who deserve better in 2017...

On Thursday, Fox's stellar baseball drama, Pitch, closed out its first season after just 10 episodes.  I've praised the show so much throughout its frustratingly short run that I'm out of ways to originally show my love.  

Since this show ended its rookie season with nary a word from the network regarding season 2 or the dreaded C-word, I'm actually angry that Fox is betraying yet another quality show led by a black woman (See Sleepy Hollow and Minority Report). 

Frankly, I'm tired of prettying up why this show is so important for television and the fans who have come to worship it.  ​Here's the bottomline: Fox would be fucking stupid not to renew Pitch. Here are the 4 biggest reasons why this show desperately needs a second season.

Something revolutionary happened during last week’s episode of Pitch. The FOX sports drama about the first woman to drafted to Major League Baseball quite literally took a bat to the dangerous Strong Black Woman Trope that television has sustained for decades.

If you think your favorite television characters have fun in front of the camera, then you haven't seen your favorite actors' lives behind it!  Instagram is for more than just duck-lipped selfies and food pics, it's also become a place for actors to offer an inside look into the controlled chaos that is making a television show and how badass it can be.  

On Thursday, Jensen Ackles tweeted picture to commemorate a big moment!  Supernatural, the show that struggled for years in the ratings, began production on its 250th episode the same day season 12 premiered. He writes, "Day 1 of episode 250. Here's to all those who helped make it happen. What a ride it has, and continues to be. Cheers... #spnfamily."
