5 Super Spoilers for 'The Flash' Season 3

For the last five months I’ve been wishing I was blessed with the Speed Force, so I could either run into the future and dive into The Flash's “Flashpoint” arc or book it to an alternate universe so I could slap Barry Allen upside the head for even considering running back in time to save his mother’s life and thus creating an bizarrely different universe.  Sadly, I just had to wait for the season 3 premiere like everyone else.

The Flash finally races onto television screens this Tuesday at 8/7c on The CW, but if you’re anything like me, you’re still craving spoilers.  Here are 5 spoilers for The Flash’s third season...

Death, Taxes and Iris |  So it’s the worst kept secret that The Flash is surging forward the popular “Flashpoint” storyline from the DC comics, in which the butterfly effect of a distraught Barry (Grant Gustin) choosing to save his mother’s life completely turned his universe upside down.  This television version of it fractures the S.T.A.R. Labs team and the West-Allen family (*sniffles* no more of those tear-jerking Joe-Barry scenes for awhile).  The one thing that doesn’t change is Barry’s love for Iris and vice versa.  Iris West’s gorgeous doppelganger, Candice Patton, tells TVLine.com, “No matter where Barry goes, what timeline, what Earth, Iris is his constant in the world. She’s always the Iris that he loves.”

And with Barry’s parents resurrected and Wally (Keiynan Lonsdale) picking up superhero duties as Kid Flash, Barry can focus on wooing Miss West in the season premiere.  “It’s really, really sweet. It reminds me of the pilot,” Patton says.  Love and metahumans are in the air.

You Get A Speed Force…And You Get A Speed Force |  In season 2's "Rupture," Jesse (Violett Beane) and Wally were struck with an errant bolt of Barry's Speed Force lightning.  The season ended before we ever saw the two tap into the Speed Force. The third episode this season will finally confirm our suspicions.  SpoilerTV.com reports that Jesse has been dabbling in superherodom in Earth-2.  Harrison (Tom Cavanagh) is so terrified that he returns to Earth-1 in order to convince Barry to talk her down, proving that Daddy doesn’t always know best.

Workplace Rivalry | There are so many changes in the "Flashpoint" universe Barry wrought, and Barry will have to face one rival most people are familiar with: the evil co-worker.  Up until now, Barry’s been a one-man CSI department.  In season 3, he will have to deal with fellow CSI Julian Albert, played by none other than Harry Potter’s Tom Felton.  According to TVLine.com, Felton’s character will display an “immediate disdain” for Barry in episode 2.  “He was able to go investigate metahumans and crimes and take that information back to S.T.A.R. Labs, but he can’t do that anymore because he’s not top dog in CSI. He’s got Julian, who is like his boss that he has to answer to,” EP Todd Helbing dishes.

One would hope that casting the former Draco Malfoy would hint that Julian will be up to far more mischievous behavior than pulling rank.

Singing the Crossover Blues | With Supergirl flying over from CBS to the The CW, a crossover between all of the DC's television shows--The Flash, Arrow, Legends of Tomorrow and Supergirl—was an inevitability (that's happening in December).  However, what’s more exciting is that The CW is taking advantage of all of the musical talents in the casts of Supergirl and The Flash with a musical crossover between both shows, EW.com reports.

Jesse L. Martin starred in the original Broadway cast and movie of the Tony-winning musical, Rent.  Grant Gustin and Melissa Benoist are former Glee stars.   And Jeremy Jordan’s musical talents were featured in the Broadway-based series, Smash.  EP Greg Berlanti promises the crossover will come in the “back half of the year” and will utilize popular songs.  Musical episodes are hit (Buffy The Vampire Slayer) or miss (Grey's Anatomy), but adding capes and superheroes in the mix is a game-changer.  Will it be epic or Spiderman 3 all over again?   Awesome or awful, this will be can't-miss television!

This badass new trailer above offers a thrilling glimpse at season 3.  A delighted Barry considering hanging up his cowl whilst teasing Kid Flash, woos Iris and kidnaps Caitlin.  Of course, the effects of his actions will come into play in a huge way.

The Flash's much-anticipated "Flashpoint" arc kicks off on Tuesday at 8/7c on The CW!
