Surprising no one, His Royalty Highness of Hotness and British Things announced his engagement to girlfriend, American actress and humanitarian Meghan Markle on Monday. And y'all, he proposed to her while she was making chicken. Take notes everyone: Lawry's doesn't just make your food taste better, it fosters a romance for the ages.
Now I've now I've never really been that interested in the royals before. I mean, Prince William and Duchess Kate Middleton seem lovely and about as dry as an English tea biscuit. So why do I care now? I'll let Issa Rae take this one:

Drake should be shook.
On Sunday, Oscar-winning actress, Vogue cover model and Hollywood's most daring fashionista Lupita Nyong'o took to Instagram to share a new skill: freestyling. The video commemorated Nyong'o surpassing over three million followers on Instagram. While on the currently press tour for Disney's Queen of Katwe, MC Nyong'o dropped bars about how fly she is. "Speak four languages, doing deals in Spanish/Hit 'em with the autograph and poof I vanish!" she raps while stunning in a black and white dress and shades.
The Super Bowl has always been testament to American competition, spectacle and one-upsmanship. And Super Bowl 50 brought plenty of all three.
Lady Gaga’s sparkly ensemble and operatic national anthem made for a unique and spangly start, however, the true competition was found on the field—and I’m not talking about the Denver Broncos beating the Carolina Panthers for the win. Beyonce and Bruno Mars absolutely slayed during their halftime performance of the newly released black empowerment anthem “Formation” and 2015’s instant dance hit, “Uptown Funk.” Oh yeah, Coldplay was there too. Small Screen Girl Confession: I’m not a Star Wars fan. Growing up, the movies were the endless obstacle between me and my cartoons. Fast forward a decade or two, and I still don’t know the difference between the Millennium Falcon and a Death Star. And is a Sith Lord a fancy Darth Vader? However, I finally found a reason to love the franchise, and it’s definitely not because of the carpet-bombing of promotional product tie-ins (How did survive without Star Wars-themed tea-infusers, fruit, barbecue utensils, computers or condoms?). It’s star Lupita Nyong’o’s one-woman parade of fashion that she has brought to nearly every promotional event and premiere for "Star Wars: The Force Awakens" from Mexico City to London and beyond. From sweetly simple to futuristic fierceness, a fashion icon she is. Check out all of her out-of-this-world styles below! Photo Credits: celebritiesofcolor.tumblr.com; http://madame.lefigaro.fr/ While Speaker of the House John Boehner announced his resignation with a presumably tear-soaked statement, President Barack Obama and First Lady Michelle Obama reminded everyone that they are and forever will be the Flyest First Couple in history by wowing at a White House state dinner honoring the visiting Chinese President Xi Jinping on Friday night.
The glamorous affair featured five-star dining, a performance by R&B star Ne-Yo, and was attended by the entertainment and political elite, including “Empire” co-creator and Oscar-nominee Lee Daniels, ballerina Misty Copeland, and political scientist Henry Kissinger, USAToday.com reports. However, The Obamas effortlessly stole the spotlight as photos and praise for the first fashions nearly broke the Internet. Mrs. Obama slayed in a custom black mermaid gown by Vera Wang with side-swept tresses. The President looked extremely dapper in the standard tuxedo. Is it weird to feel a little more secure knowing our President and First Lady are the coolest leaders in the free world? I didn’t think so. Photo Credits: Time.com |
