Empire's Cookie may be one of the only Lyons who don't grace the musical stage, but doppleganger Taraji P. Henson cannot stop singing the praises of her latest film, Proud Mary. Henson has recently started sharing stills and videos from the last day on set, and she is already selling the film that isn't slated for release until 2018.
She captioned a stunning backlit picture of Henson's character, Mary, wielding guns, "I can NOT BELIEVE I am doing most of my stunts in this BADASS FILM. My body is bruised and tired but the process was sooooooo EXCITING!!!! I amazed my dang on self on this one!!!! #proudTaraji as #ProudMary."
In an earlier post featuring a bloody wound, the Golden Globe winner revealed that her character, the titular Mary is "SO BAD ASS!!! OMGGGG THIS MOVIE IS GOING TO BE SO GOOOOOOOD!!! I may can check off Super Hero on my bucket list becaaaaaauuuuuse MARY IS BAD AF!!!!!!" Let's hope Mary also wears a cape or offs people while dancing to the Tina Turner song at some point in the film. Proud Mary centers on a Mary, a hitwoman for the mob, who discovers her maternal instinct when she stumbles upon a young boy on a job gone wrong. It also stars Danny Glover and Neal McDonough (DC's Legends Of Tomorrow), and Billy Brown (How To Get Away With Murder), Deadline.com reports. Proud Mary is slated for a January 2018 release.
