Marvel released the new trailer for the 2017's Guardian's Of The Galaxy Vol. 2 earlier this week, and the extended clip features Chris Pratt's Peter Quill, his band of crime-fighting extraterrestrials, some sweet '80s tunes, and a Baby Groot fresh from the pot.
After multiple viewings, I can't decide if Baby Groot, who is still voiced by the gravel-throated Vin Diesel, is cool or too cutesy.
Baby Groot seems like the awesomely violent little weirdo he was in the the first Guardians, as well as the master of those three ubiquitous words. See the trailer below to discover Groot's infectious excitement over pretending to detonate an atomic bomb. The movie is rated PG-13, so odds are Baby Groot isn't there to attract young children.
However, this tiny child (or sapling) brings a much different vibe than the intimidatingly tall arboresque warrior and scene-stealter we fell in love with and didnt want to piss off. Guardians is a wildly strange space adventure with cool battles, off-color humor and a throwback soundtrack, and an adorably voiced tree-child could be too cutesy and gimmicky when paired with intergalatic shenanigans which is unlike any other series in Marvel's cinematic arsenal. Ultimately, we'll have to wait until May2017 to behold Baby Groot in all of his woodsy glory. What's your knee-jerk reaction to Baby Groot in the trailer? Watch and sound off below.

Marvel has always been a part of my childhood. I have read tons of comics and seen all the movies so far. Being able to see the heroes on the big screen is always brings joy and excitement and makes me a little kid again. I really am impressed with the direction Guardians of the Galaxy Vol. 2 is going. Baby Groot is finally growing to be another character that many people will come to love. His personality is far more than him saying, "I am Groot."
